1. Responsible for instructing camera operators regarding camera setup.
2. Responsible for assisting the Director in translating the screenplay into visual images.
3. Analyze characters and story structures.
4. Responsible for checking lighting-fixture crew.
5. Responsible for visiting cast run-throughs and rehearsals.
6. Works closely with the Production Manager to know the size of the grip, camera, and lighting crews.
